EVENT: Winter Storm Warning
A winter storm system will move across the region today through
Saturday. Precipitation has begun as a mix of rain, snow, and
sleet this morning; but will transition to mostly rain in far
western Missouri for a few hours this afternoon, before
transitioning to all snow in the mid to late afternoon hours from
east to west, with accumulating snow Friday night into Saturday.
The change over from a cold rain to a mix of wintery precipitation
types this afternoon will be a bit nebulous and will make driving
a bit slick. The heaviest accumulations are still expected to
occur after sunset tonight through Saturday morning. Expect light
snow to continue into Saturday afternoon, tapering off by
Saturday night.
* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 8

* WHERE...Randolph, Howard and Cooper Counties.

* WHEN...From 3 PM Friday to midnight CST Saturday night.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Mixed precipitation is possible as the
storm exits the region Saturday afternoon and evening. Some
minor glazing of surfaces will be possible. Plan on slippery
road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the
evening commute.
A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow, sleet
and ice will make travel very hazardous or impossible.
